E-invoice-ID

ID is short for Identification. In the world of e-invoicing, ID can mean several things, but the most common is to refer to the electronic address of the invoice, i.e. where the electronic invoice is to be sent. You can compare it to writing a postal address on a letter before putting it in the mailbox. Without an address, the letter will not arrive.

An electronic address is obtained when you are an e-invoice recipient behind a VAN operator or via Peppol.

Some different identifiers on an e-invoice are, for example, GLN number which stands for global localization number, Peppol ID if the invoice is to be sent via Peppol's network or, of course, organization number or in some cases VAT number.

These e-invoice IDs may in some cases need to be entered when you start sending to the new e-invoice recipient depending on how you send your e-invoice.
When you send invoices with InExchange, this information is already available in our large network where you can also reach recipients behind Peppol.
