This year began with Scancloud and Inexchange joining forces and the merged company getting fixed points in both Östersund and Skövde.
Now, just over six months later, the next news is that the office in Östersund has moved into new fresh and cozy premises.
"It's a boost for all of us who work here," says Ola Widegren, CEO of Inexchange.
With regard to Inexchange in Skövde, the company has been spoiled for many years with an excellent home in one of the innovation cluster Science Park's buildings with immediate proximity to the municipal university. In Östersund, on the other hand, there has been a need to find more appropriate premises that better support the business going forward.
Now the process is complete. The move into the new office took place a few days into June. The working days on either side of the holidays have since been used to make adjustments and to settle in.
"It's always nice to have new premises," says Ola Widegren happily.
He says that this particular upgrade in terms of modernization and functionality were two key starting points when planning for a physical relocation of the company.
"In terms of premises, we wanted to obtain a solution better suited to our needs. This included a desire to create larger social areas. That was our first priority. The other was to improve the working environment for employees who work with paper handling, which is part of our business. So those were our main objectives," explains Ola.
Sometimes it's hard to get everything exactly right, but in this case, the situation was so good that we were able to sit down with the landlord and draw exactly how it should be.
"We started with a near blank piece of paper. Together we designed the look of the office. We started with some loose ideas for the first two months before signing the lease in October. All in all, the work has taken ten months," he continues.
In terms of distance, it's about a 1600-meter redirection from Ringvägen to Odensviksvägen in central Östersund. At the new address, InExchange has two floors divided into 1200 square meters of office space and 350 square meters of warehouse. The latter area is located on the street level, which means that all paper handling takes place on the same level. The difference is miles compared to the previous office. Back then, the corresponding reception and archiving was spread over three floors.
As you can imagine, it was a lot of work.
By the way, if we're talking about paper handling, it will get easier and easier in the future. Not only thanks to the move. On July 1, the Accounting Act was amended. Since that date, it is no longer necessary to keep accounting material, such as receipts and invoices, in paper form if the material is digitized.
"This means that the documents do not have to be saved for three years, which was the requirement before, before it can be destroyed," Ola points out, and this is obviously welcome news. InExchange has a stated ambition to equip companies, organizations and authorities with electronic business flows. The change in the law favors that purpose.
"However, we will still save the documents as security in case the scan is complained about. But not for as long, of course. The fact that we can destroy continuously makes the procedure faster," he continues, adding for the sake of clarity:
"We want customers to digitize as much as possible. The trend is undoubtedly that the volume of paper is decreasing in relation to other formats. At the same time, the company is growing, so in absolute terms, the volume of paper is not decreasing in size.
The new space also has one more advantage. A table tennis table to be exact.
"It's heavily used," Ola describes happily, noting that the popularity has increased further during the Olympic weeks. It's ping pong fever on Odensviksvägen.
