There is a noticeable increasing trend towards modernization of the finance function, increased automation and the introduction of decision support. However, Åsa explains that Sweden is lagging behind when it comes to e-invoice management compared to countries like Norway and Finland. This is partly due to the lack of specific legislation on e-invoices in Sweden, which has left the responsibility for transformation to agencies and system providers like BDO.
