Ragn-Sells an important role model worth praising

Ragn-Sells is awarded the InExchange Environmental Award for 2023. Through targeted efforts - where a complete receiving service was a crucial solution - most of the company's incoming invoices are now electronic.
Ragn-Sells, which is active in recycling and the environment, also receives the award for its role as a pioneer in sustainability and the circular economy. The company has repeatedly spoken before the world's most powerful leaders and put forward how climate change can be slowed down. They are an innovator who serves as a role model for us all.

At the latest UN climate summit, COP28 in Dubai in December, Ragn-Sells was part of the Swedish delegation. The company presented methods, linked to recycling raw materials from waste, that could keep global warming below two degrees. The presentation attracted attention and started important discussions.
- To be at that level and to be involved in influencing the agenda is a fantastic opportunity. It also feels great to be on the same stage and in the same context as much larger companies like Volvo Cars, Ikea and Tetra Pak. That our participation and our efforts are compared with theirs is truly an honor," says Ulf Nordqvist, Head of AR/AP & Treasury at Ragn-Sells.

In line with other environmental work

But the most rigorous and systematic environmental work does not start at a climate conference. It has to start somewhere. In Ragn-Sell's case, you could say that Väderholmen's farm in Sollentuna is like the heart. The farm became the home of the family business early in the last century and the rural collection of buildings is still their headquarters today. This is where Ulf and the other financial staff are based. Of course, the strong environmental awareness is reflected in their daily work.
- Of course it is. When we digitize our invoice flows, it is exactly in line with the company's environmental profile in general. It is absolutely right in terms of what we are doing, says Ulf and elaborates:
- We also saw a great potential in acquiring a complete recipient service. On the one hand, it would save costs, and on the other hand, we would get the invoices into the actual flow faster and thus be able to provide feedback faster. These were the driving factors.

Fast impact

The procured solution from InExchange for accounts payable was implemented in spring 2022.
- We noticed the effects quickly and these have continued. The increase is not exponential, but steady. We are down to five percent paper now," says Ulf happily.
That's how an effective environmental effort works. An effort so strong that it is worth rewarding with the InExchange Environmental Award for 2023.
- It feels good for Ragn-Sells and for us as representatives of the company, says Ulf, who was joined at the award ceremony by Margaretha Lindell and Therése Holmgren from the accounts payable department. InExchange was represented by key account manager Marcus Wilenius.

This is the motivation for Ragn-Sells receiving the Environmental Award 2023:
"Recycling, sustainability and the environment are Ragn-Sells' hallmarks. The company always puts the environmental perspective first. This also characterizes the work regarding invoicing. E-invoicing is their slogan. Through great determination, the proportion of incoming e-invoices has grown at a rapid pace, and the company's unwavering environmental concerns also prevail in this area. With its efforts to protect our common natural resources at all levels, Ragn-Sells is an example to us all."
