Easy customs invoicing with Inexchange and Peppol

Niklas Andersson_produktchef_inexchange_Lågupplöst

Swedish Customs has decided to introduce a new invoicing system and move to Peppol as the standard format for electronic customs invoices.
However, as an Inexchange customer, it is only in exceptional cases that you need to take action. Peppol is part of our supplier invoice services, so Inexchange's solutions ensure a smooth transition and continued receipt of customs invoices after the agency's system change.

The Swedish Customs have recently announced that they are changing their invoicing system for customs bills. This means that they are switching to Peppol as the standard format for electronic invoices. It is clear that the announcement took many companies by surprise, but in fact it is fairly easy to comply with the handling that the Swedish Customs has now announced.
"The concerns that have arisen probably have to do with the fact that the information from the Swedish Customs has been perceived as complicated and complicated. But we can reassure all concerned. It's a simple process to fulfill the Swedish Customs' request for an e-invoice via Peppol", assures Niklas Andersson (pictured), Product Manager at Inexchange, and explains further:
"Our services for receiving invoices in Peppol are aimed at all types of companies. We have solutions that can be integrated with ERP systems and also web-based solutions for those who receive smaller volumes, but still need to be published in Peppol."

This applies to our customers

In detail, this means the following for Inexchange customers:
  • Peppol is included in our supplier invoice services: if you use Inexchange's service to receive supplier invoices, you can rest assured. Peppol is always included in these services.
  • No action required (in most cases): If you already use the Inexchange service for supplier invoices, in most cases you don't need to do anything. We as an access point in Peppol and your operator will always convert the invoices to the format you are used to.
  • Check publication in Peppol: The only exception is if you are not published in Peppol, in which case we will help you with this at no extra cost. Contact our support and we will arrange it. To see your Peppol ID, or to check if you are registered in Peppol, you can search here: Peppol Directory
  • Flexible solutions: If you don't currently have a service for supplier invoices, we have solutions to suit all needs, regardless of the size of your invoice flow or the system you use.

Positive step

Beyond this, there's only one thing to remember. That is to notify your Peppol ID to Swedish Customs. In order for Swedish Customs to send you customs invoices via Peppol, they need this ID. You can find information on how to make the notification on the Swedish Customs website (see link below).

But apart from the fact that the Swedish Customs' announcement was made at relatively short notice, and that their information can be difficult to understand, Niklas believes that the step taken by the authority is positive.
"As the country's largest access point in Peppol, we naturally advocate even greater flows via that infrastructure. This is also one of the reasons why Peppol is always included in our services", he says, emphasizing:
"The fact that even more of our customers will be able to handle the Swedish Customs' settlements electronically, and do the same with invoices from other suppliers, is obviously welcome. It is a development that is in line with the digital expansion in general, but above all it benefits the customer with all the benefits that come with e-invoices."
